Digital publishing is the green alternative to traditional print. Here are some the environmental benefits of delivering magazines, books or any kind of publication on a digital format:

• Saves fossil fuels and bypasses green house gas emissions. Print books are often produced internationally and taken to different countries, to distribution centers and then to homes and bookstores across your country. So it’s a costly and non-sustainable process. Digital editions are delivered to your PC, smartphone or other devices instantly.

• No more cut-down trees. It takes at least 7 trees to make a ton of paper. Million of trees were used to print the Twilight books. Digital editions can be read on your screen, or printed sparingly on recycled paper.

• Less pollution to air, land and water. Paper and print manufacturing practises are among the largest polluters to air, land and water in the United States. It is what they call paper pollution. Air is contaminated with Nitrogen dioxide(NO₂) sulfur dioxide (SO₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂) and chlorine-based chemicals. Water is mixed with organic substances and leads to the death of some organisms. Even recycling paper contributes to pollution (less… but yeah).

Btw, our printer has been broken for days and we don’t even care.
